Burnley Youth Theatre has a small team of permanent, casual and freelance staff who all work together to deliver a fantastic programme of work for local children, young people and families.

We want to get as many people involved in our work as possible and here you will find the latest job vacancies, freelance opportunities, training opportunities and volunteering opportunities.

Programme Engagement Manager

We are looking for a Programme Engagement Manager to bring our Reflections and Revelations: Our People – Our Place – Our Future 50th Anniversary Programme to life through a number of projects and events, including an oral history project, a curated ‘living museum’, and a heritage theatre performance.

Volunteer Opportunities

Adult Volunteers

We are always interested in having new adult volunteers work with us to support our work with children, young people and families. Opportunities available are:

Chaperoning children during productions
Working front of house
Administration and marketing support
Fundraising (individually or as part of a group)
Set building
Maintenance of our building and grounds including gardening

Please note that all volunteers aged 18 and over will be required to undergo a DBS check which will be provided by Burnley Youth Theatre

Youth Volunteers

We encourage any young person aged 11 and over to volunteer with us. We offer incentives for young people volunteering with us including the opportunity to complete an Arts Award accreditation. Volunteer hours can also count towards a Duke of Edinburgh Volunteering Award. Opportunities available are:

Creative Volunteer Team – supporting workshops and productions
Technical Team -supporting sound, lighting and backstage for productions
Creative Media Team – using digital media to document and promote events online
Fundraising Team – raising money to support Burnley Youth Theatre activities including bag packs and organising fundraising events
Operational Support – supporting front of house and marketing
