About Burnley Youth Theatre
Burnley Youth Theatre is a registered charity and Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation looking to expand and further diversify our Board of Trustees. We are a unique, thriving arts organisation in Burnley, Lancashire, with our own purpose built theatre and will celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2023. Our mission is to ‘creatively inspire children and young people to take their next steps’ and we are passionate about developing our local community to ensure they are confident, healthy, resilient and ready for the future.
We offer an extensive programme of creative activity for children, young people and families, in person and digitally, through a year-round programme across five strands: Youth Theatre, Professional Theatre, Creative Education, Outreach and Training.
We are especially looking for trustees who are North West based with experience in any of the following areas:
- Arts and Culture
- Property Management
- Marketing / Communications / PR
In addition, we would like to recruit potential local trustees who have experience of the organisation. We are looking for:
- Past participants – specifically young people aged 18 – 25
- Parents / carers of current or past participants
- Community partners / local teachers
We are dedicated to having a more diverse Board of Trustees, therefore we would encourage people who identify as disabled, neuro-diverse, BAMER, LGBTQ+ and working class to apply. We will strive to accommodate any access needs you may have, please outline these in your application. This is a voluntary role, but expenses can be covered to enable access.
