We are excited to announce the second digital round table in our 50th Year Programme will be ‘Our Place: Buildings and Beginnings’ 

Join us for an evening of reminiscing with faces from across BYT’s history discussing what the organisation was like in its formative years and hear the journey of how we went from performing at Towneley High School to having the first purpose built Youth Theatre in Europe. If you have ever attended a workshop, volunteered, been apart of the BYT team, supported our work from a far or sat front row cheering us on. We’d love to see you there.

Guest Speakers:
Anthony Preston: Artistic Director 1986 – 1997.  Anthony has seen BYT develop and grow over the past 50 years from his early days as a BYT participant to today as our Chair of Trustees.

Jacky Hardacre (née Rydell) : Artistic Director 1997 – 2005. Jacky was Artistic Director when our current building was opened in 2005.

Andrew Walker: Chair of the building group and of the Trustees at the time. He was part of the volunteer team who fundraised for 10 years to ensure our participants had a purpose built Youth Theatre to perform from.

This event is apart of our year-long 50th year creative programme  ‘Reflections and Revelations: Our People, Our Place and Our Future’. Capturing our extraordinary history, celebrating the memories and milestones and looking to the future so we can continue for many, many years to come.
