Burnley Youth Theatre are looking for a female identifying performer aged (18-25) to perform a powerful piece of theatre focusing on child sexual exploitation which will tour to 5 secondary schools across Lancashire.
The play will follow one girl’s journey into a world of grooming and abuse. Focusing specifically on coercive control, gaslighting, love bombing and isolation we are going to raise awareness of CSE by showing the key signs to look out for. This show will contain sensitive topics.
The commitment will be 6 days rehearsal (or equivalent hours) and 5 days of performances across Lancashire.
The project is funded and supported by The Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioners Violence Against Women and Girls Fund and will also involve support from other relevant agencies.
Where: The tour will take place in 5 Secondary Schools across Lancashire, dates to be discussed and agreed
When: The tour will take place between January – February 2026
Rehearsals: Rehearsals will take place at Burnley Youth Theatre throughout late November / December/ early January
Fee: The fee is £1650 (11 days @ £150 per day)
Age: 18 – 25 (must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check)
Gender: We are looking for a performer who identifies as female
Location: Must be in commutable distance from Burnley Youth Theatre
Accent: Native northern

You do not need to know lots about the arts to get involved, as long as you’re passionate then you will fit right in.
