Burnley Youth Theatre is seeking creative and passionate young people aged 16 – 25 years old to engage in 10-week paid placements (average 6 hrs per week) during our Summer Season (15th May – 19th July 2025).
These paid placements are for young people from communities who are under-represented in the arts.Join our team and gain valuable work experience while being paid
There are 4 placements available.
Placements will be recruited using ‘Positive Action’ to encourage diversity in the arts among the following under-represented groups:
Additionally if you feel opportunities are denied to you for other reasons e.g. due to your carer responsibilities, or you’re not in education or employment, we would like to hear from you!
Placements can be in:
Technical theatre
Animation / Film
Marketing
Workshop Leading and Productions
Front Of House / Events assistant
Applicants must be 16 – 25 years old.
The role is a paid placement (National Minimum Wage), with some flexibility to the hours worked each week, however, the role is with the view of someone working 60 hours over 10 weeks based at our theatre building in Burnley.

Since Burnley Youth Theatre was established in 1973, volunteers have been a vital part of our team.
You do not need to know lots about the arts to get involved, as long as you’re passionate then you will fit right in.
We have volunteer opportunities in workshop, front of house, marketing and more!
