We are getting ready for a year-long party and everyone is invited!

2023 will mark 50 years since Burnley Youth Theatre opened its doors and became a second home to so many people. Turning 50 means we have quite the story to tell. From curtain calls and royal visits to fires and floods, BYT has seen it all and has always come back bigger and better.

To give this momentous occasion the celebration it deserves, we are delivering a year-long creative programme called ‘Reflections and Revelations: Our People, Our Place and Our Future’, which will capture our extraordinary history, celebrate the memories and milestones and look to the future so we can continue for many, many years to come.

Every moment in the year-long celebration involves YOU, Our People, as you are at the heart of everything we do, and who have made Burnley Youth Theatre what it is today – onstage, behind the scenes, supporting our work from a far or being front row cheering us on! BYT is nothing without you.

We are extremely excited to announce the full programme of celebrations at the beginning of January which will include everything from events and workshops to exhibitions and shows. Sign up to our newsletter below to be the first to hear about our plans and how you can get involved.

Reflections and Revelations is going to be an amazing way for BYT to connect with our past and plan for the future to ensure we can continue providing high quality cultural activities for children, young people and families in Burnley and beyond.

We are thrilled to be celebrating our 50th anniversary with such an exciting programme. It will centre on our heritage and journey and the impact we have had in our town – securing our 50 year history for future generations – ‘our people, our place, our future’
